Happy Holidays!

I have a gift for y'all…except I didn't actually write it.  It was written by the wonderful authors of Mergers And Acquisitions, and I loved it when I read it.  Thus, I am sharing it with anyone who will listen!

There are major references to the plot of this, as it is a future-take of M&A, but there is a one-shot that can basically get you up to speed.  Then…read the future-take, and be in awe…!!  Of course, if you were actually to read the whole story…trust me, it's addictive.

Leave 'em some love—they deserve it!!

I hope any and all holidays you celebrate are the best they can be, and I'll blather more in the new year!

Oh Crap

Well, my last month or so has been incredibly busy…as proved by the evidence I found today.  I was in the shower, combing through my hair to make sure I got all the shampoo out (and soaking up the steam, because I have a nasty cold), and I. Found. It.

Tyler Clementi

I'm pretty isolated in my corner of the world, so I don't hear much new news.  What I do hear, lately especially, is horrifying.  I'm sending you a link to a post made by Starfish 422, about this:
Starfish's Blog.  Please, take a look—she says everything so much better than I ever could.

The End Of Summer…The End Of Kill Her

Well, here we are.  Was it worth it—putting up with my lack of writing schedule?  Was the ending what you hoped?  As for why the ending os so very late, there are a multitude of reasons.

For one, my health, while never top-notch, has been taking hit after hit lately.  Though, according to every doctor I've been to, there is nothing wrong with me…they haven't seen me collapse yet.

In addition, my stress level is skyrocketing.  I am living in a very undesirable set of conditions, while trying to help two children to grow and mature so they can be as whole as possible.  My course load this round is heavier than anything I've done before—I've had to drop two of my classes just to keep my head up.  I am volunteering more than ever, on many different fronts, and trying to balance that with the job I've settled for.

For years, I was working at a library, which I loved—the books, the programs, the kids—and the pay was what I needed, while not being crazy excess.  Now, I am working (again) for a woman who I do not like and barely respect.  The daycare does not pay nearly as well—I'm down to minimum wage, and the only way I can up that is to take a course—one of the ones I dropped—and force them to pay me more, as I will be in the possession of a certain piece of paper.

To top this all off, I have a temperamental internet service, that sometimes works…and then it doesn't.

This cannot possible make up for the fact that my story has dragged on more than a year, with only five chapters at the end—not counting the Alternate Ending—but I think that if you know part of why it has happened, you will perhaps be a little more forgiving towards the timeline.

And maybe discourage me from doing anymore multi-chaps in the future.

Kill Her Teaser

Well, I'm in the final stages of the final chapter…and I've always wanted to do this.  So, indulge me a little computer play while my kids are getting along (knock on wood, please), and enjoy….

Fandom For Preemies

Fandom For Preemies
I have recently discovered this, through Whitlock-Masen, and I will do everything in my power to be a contributing author.  I'm unable to make a donation, unfortunately, so I will participate the best way I can.  Accepted works include, and I quote: "oneshot, outtake, sideshot, futuretake, original work of fiction or something else."  I'm sure you can email the coordinators if you have any questions.

If anyone has a particular request, I'll see what I can do…the story I've started is quite a sad original fiction, so far—and I don't know if it'll get better.

If you are interested in signing up to write, do so as soon as you can, and be aware that stories must be in by October 21st, 2010 for them to be included.

The compilation will be ready on November 1st, the organizers ask that you hold your donations until then.

Please take a look at the site, and do whatever you can to help this cause.  There are some amazing stories there from parents of preemies, who have shared with us.

Please honour November being Prematurity Awareness Month by participating.

Kill Her Update

Well, it's nearly the end of summer…though that's not until the twenty-first, officially.  I do plan on having the last chapter up this week, so be ready—it should rock some boats.  At least, I hope so.  I shall give you a link so you can catch up before the chapter comes!

If It Doesn't Kill Her

Now, please go read it, tell me what you think…yell at me for not updating.  Perhaps in the future, I should stick to one-shots…?

Raw And Rosy

Sound intriguing?  It bloody well better…there is a fic by that name, written by tuesdaymidnight, and it's absolutely amazing.  I definitely suggest a look.

Brief summary: "Jasper Hale hates his high school rival Edward Cullen with a passion. What happens when Jasper discovers Edward's little secret? Spank!Fic. AH/AU/OOC. Rated M. Contains mature content."

My translation?  Bring a flippin' towel…and remember this has been nominated—and made it to the voting round—of The Slash Awards' 'Best Toy Play' category…it deserves every vote it gets.  I eternally thank the person/people who nominated it!

Beware, though: there is spanking in almost…no, I do believe it's every chapter, in some way, shape, or form.  There's also bareback, rimjobs…cuffs…it's dirty, and the author says it best:  I realize that some aspects of this story are unrealistic, but it's meant for entertainment purposes only. Please do not read it if spank fics are not your thing.

But if they are…please, please look into it!  And don't forget to cast a ballot in  The Slash Awards voting, which will be restarted after Slash Backslash 2.0 wraps up.  Dates are found by following the links.

Now, my favourite link at the moment: Raw and Rosy.  It is worth it!

Bad News

Unfortunately, it isn't looking as though I will be finishing the oneshot I was attempting to get done for the Slash Backslash 2.0 contest.  I will finish it as soon as I can, and post accordingly.  My first priority will be If It Doesn't Kill Her, I am nearly done it.  I will update everybody when I have more information!

Pen-On-Vinyl

I just have something to say to all you parents out there. I've got two little ones of my own, so please don't think I'm hating on parents in general—just certain ones who don't parent.

As you know, I work in a library. I run the After School Program there, and co-run the Summer Reading Program. I love kids—don't get me wrong. But this one little boy….

L is a mother who uses our free computer/internet service quite often. Her son, W, is about three, and always accompanies her. Until about two months ago, he was always in a stroller, and adorable. He has recently been let out of the stroller, free to walk around the building. While he is still sweet to look at, he's effing murder on everything else.

Yesterday, they were in, as usual. When L decided leave—much earlier than usual, I might add—she came to the desk, and said to my boss, S, 'Just to let you know, W coloured on one of your chairs with a pen and I tried to wipe it off with a paper towel, but it won't come off. But he said sorry!'
to
Then she left. Now, it turns out, she had given W a pen and paper, and told him not to draw on anything else. Knowing the age, what did she expect him to do?!?!?!?

~~~
We have tried everything that we—and Google—can think of, and the bloody pen won't come off! Mr. Clean, Goo Gone—mixed with sea salt and without—, hair spray—?—, industrial cleaners, graffiti remover…nada. A replacement will have to be ordered. These chairs cost upwards of $150, and shipping from Ontario is another $100 or so. L will be paying for the chair.
So let this be a lesson to us all—when you bring your little darlings to public places, hang on to them. Or you will pay for the fallout. I, for one, do not like having to hunt people down and tell then that they owe us $250+ for one negligent non-action. But I will—and so will others. Please, for the sake of us all, don't be like L and W!
Slash Backslash 2.0
I recently heard of Slash Backslash 2.0—so, I am attempting an entry. The link to the C2 is here—Community - Slash Backslash 2.0—and the profile here—Slash Backslash.
Please forgive me if the links do not work—I'm new to all this.
